Walk 'n' Talk Evenings

2014

We thought the balmy summer evenings would create perfect opportunities for residents of Sandy Water Park to socialise, whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Sandy Water Park and the Millennium Coastal Park.

So it was that during June of 2014 we organised our first Walk 'n' Talk evening; some residents met on a warm and sunny evening near the Bee and Butterfly garden where we decided our route and length of walk.

It was a success!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable walk around Sandy Lake towards the Millennium Coastal Path, around Llanelli Beach with a return around North Dock and back onto Sandy Lake.

2015

Once again, we held Walk 'n' Talk evenings in June.

The first was with a large number of residents, some of whom were new to us and eachother, creating a wonderful opportunity for us all to meet.

It was a little windy, so we thought we would simply stroll and chat our way around Sandy Lake - a very pleasant hour was had by all. One resident commented of, 'how quickly the time had gone.' Time flies when you're having fun!

The second event in June was, admittedly, with a smaller number of people, nonetheless a thoroughly enjoyable walk was had by all, under a beautiful clear blue sky. We ventured around the lake, towards the beach (to enjoy a full tide) and a return through North Dock.

The third event for 2015, luckily, was another balmy evening. We were joined by two ladies whom hadn't joined before and we headed off around the lake, over the landbridge towards the beach, cut inbetween the housing toward North Dock.

There were plenty of people around North Dock and plenty swimming in the dock!! We passed the restaurant Sospan on the new footpath, paused to read some of the historical boards which were displayed and headed back towards home. Another thoroughly enjoyable 90 minutes.

Our walk in early July was a simple, yet thoroughly enjoyable, stroll around our lovely Sandy Lake.

More meeting dates were organised for September 7th and 21st, 2015 at 6.30pm, meeting at the Bee Garden at the end of Heron Avenue.

Please check our Facebook page and our new noticeboard in Heron Avenue for details ofupcoming events in 2016 - we'd love for you to join us!!
